MAITREYA PROJECTÕS

RELIC TOUR

February 6-8 and 10-12, 2009

A precious exhibition whose purpose is to inspire people of all spiritual traditions and paths

to come together to experience the blessings of sacred relics

from the Buddha and other Buddhist masters

Stony Brook University Relic Show

Lama Zopa Rinpoche, a student of His Holiness the Dalai Lama

and Spiritual Director of the Maitreya Project,

has gathered together this unique collection of holy relics.

Beautifully displayed around golden Maitreya Buddhas,

the relics create a powerful atmosphere inspiring loving kindness.

During the event, there will be blessing ceremonies for visitors using the relics.

These crystal-like objects have been found post-cremation in the ashes of holy beings

such as the historical Buddha, his disciples, commentators on his teachings,

lineage founders and modern day lamas.

The collection includes relics from Ananda, Shariputra,

Lama Atisha, Lama Tsongkhapa, Milarepa,

and several other great Buddhist masters from different traditions.

Visitors often report experiences of inspiration and healing when in the presence of the relics.

While some are inspired to pray for world peace and to develop their inner wisdom,

others are overcome by emotion as the powerful effects of the relics open their hearts

 to compassion and loving-kindness.
